Weekday Bible Studies

“Lost Books?” by Lutheran Hour Ministries. Have you ever wondered if books were intentionally excluded from the Bible? Or What if more information about Christ’s life was buried for centuries? Are there books that should be in the Bible but aren’t? “Absolutely!” With worldwide hits like The Da Vinci Code and commercial and cable networks cranking out programs on cracking cryptic codes and unburying ancient secrets, the interest in knowing what the past has to say is running high. Often, too, these types of questions are directed to believers, putting them at a loss to answer those who wonder why the Bible should be believed over other ancient writings. In fact, many Christians have the same questions themselves. There are 4 weekly videos. Deaconess Jeri will facilitate the discussion. This course begins January 15th. We meet at 6PM in the Martin Luther Room. Guests are always welcome.

“Parables”  begins Monday, September 18 for 12 weeks.  Time: 6-7:30 PM, Martin Luther Room, Led by Deaconess Jeri.  images-1

The 12-week study will give us a deeper understanding about some of our favorite parables. Everyone is welcome. Study guides are free. Please sign up in the Narthex so we know how many copies to make. (They will be distributed before the 1st session.)

“To God the Glory” neighborhood Bible study meets the 2nd & 4th Monday of each month.  We meet in members homes.  Our “ministry” includes:

  • Outreach with the UA Lutheran Campus Ministry by serving a dinner to the students on the evening of their Bible studies,
  • Sponsoring 1 pastor’s training with the Garuna ministry and financial support to Pastor Elders for another, (an ongoing outreach),
  • We sponsor one Advent or Lent meal with monies going to the Garuna ministry.

“1st Tuesday Women’s Bible Study” is taught by Deaconess Jeri at 10:00 A.M. in the Choir Room, the first Tuesday of each month.

1st Tuesday is perfect whether you consider yourself a ‘newbie’ or of you have been involved in many group studies over the years. When our eyesight is out of focus, we are not able to see clearly that which is truly important. The same is true for us spiritually. Coming together to study God’s Word is one way that He will refocus us on what is important. In this journey of life it is too easy to get distracted. Look for the study guides next to the information desk.

Prayer Break: meets weekly at Jerry Bob’s at La Canada and Duvall Mine Road at 8AM. All are welcome. We have breakfast together and share our praises and requests for ourselves, our community, and our neighbors near and far. All are welcome!

WEDNESDAY –      None scheduled at this time.
